As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and integrity, we require all billet families to register as volunteers with USA Hockey. This process includes a background check and completion of the SafeSport training program, which are crucial for the safety and well-being of the athletes in your care.
You must provide your future player with a private or shared room that meets the basic criteria of the player program, ensuring they have a comfortable and quiet space to rest and study.
We encourage diversity, but English proficiency is a requirement for billeting in the USA. If the player is from a non-English speaking country, they will need to learn or improve their English proficiency. To support this, the host family must speak English at home.
As a host family, it’s important to respect the host family responsibilities throughout the player's stay. To avoid misunderstandings and conflicts, we recommend discussing various aspects of the program with your player before they arrive.
If you meet the participation criteria described above, we invite you to register as a host family.
